Just heard their Ecuador podcast with Ari after Ari dropped the fact that he was in Ecuador on Bert’s podcast the other day. Anyway, I left the country in 2013 so am seriously out of the loop post Correa. Their assessment was pretty spot on, caught me up quick and these guys come across as worldly and savvy. They asked some good questions. Really enjoyed the episode and I’ll be checking some more out.

I love the new format of the podcast. After I listen to the daily Al Jazeera news update your guests have been able to fill in the blanks for me (or dumb down the historical info I never learned in school). I’ve been now able to communicate with my husband who reads the New York Times...and say, “I heard in my podcast that...” or “my friend who’s from Egypt said...” priceless.

Guys! Thanks for returning to the international coverage. American comedians who (or have) traveled abroad and comedians from other countries, they’re all great! The small-city origins of American comedians was ok, lived there, done that, wanna forget about about the places, but the international coverage makes me smile and inspires me. (Dunno if Palle listened to the Swedish segment, but he would definitely agree those with Viking blood scare covid away! LOL!) All the best, Bill in Seattle

It’s very lost

A great way to widdle away the hours, and not think about the drudgery of life

Each week seems to get better. They have a new guest each week so the show seems to stay fresh. It's to bad that's Kaplan had to have a heart attack but this was the best podcast yet. It was both informative and funny. They kept a very serious subject very funny. It's always interesting to have someone give first hand information. They make a good pair of give and take on the air.

First time reviewer... long time listener of the pod... I’m loving the “Alt Middle” political commentary that has evolved as a central point on the pod, taking aim at hilarious one issue voter points, rolling them in turner/kap jam, and throwing them down on the decks with no regard for haters! Keep it up! Congrats on 100 episodes! #altmiddle

I am a huge fan of Lost in America! The hosts are great, and I think the topic is super important. At a time when the country is divided and everything is tense, I especially love that it's about trying to understand the US from a holistic, loving, and fun place. We are a weird country, and these two are our perfect guides!

I have to say I'm very surprised the pod got to episode 50! I really only thought it would last for a couple weeks/episodes. Just thought it was a fun little experiment, didn't realize it was so intense! But I'm a big fan of course! :)

Turner and Kaplan bring an interesting point of view of what is american. Each podcast shows the two of them finding their groove. Anyone that has lived abrod should listen. Love it!!

This pod just feals real. It flows well, and captures a comfortable comedic conversation between two good friends.... shins... ouch. Lost in America... great.

Great dynamic between these two and the guests they have on each week; I find myself cracking up almost every episode. The premise of the show makes you look at everyday accepted cultural norms in a different light. The Hanukkah and Halloween episodes both were hilarious.

These guys are the real MVP's. Both guys pod hard

For some reason the story of an American who returned home after 12 years living in China really speaks to me. Great podcast. Funny. Good chemistry and flow between the hosts.

These guys are hysterical and have good chemistry. The most recent podcast with their lawyer was great and I highly recommend!

This podcast appropriately balances humor with real life experience with perspectives from the co-host after his return from a decade outside the US. This fresh perspective and comedic take on the America around us is refreshing. The alternating paradigms between the hosts and guests bring a new look at the entire world around us and a great opportunity to tune out by tuning in.

After listening to a few episodes I can safely tell my friends it was "meh". The multiple 5 star reviews hyped this up more than it deserved. If you're going to listen to a funny podcast on your commute download Nerdist or You made it weird. Besides being funny those two podcasts don't spend an inordinate amount of time promoting their various social media outlets.

..How you know it's about to get crazy. Great story telling and topic transitions to keep you entertained with hilarious stories about life adventures. Update 11/4: After multiple episodes the guys are hilarious, but I'm not sure if you should be allowed to play music for an audience if you've been out of the US for 12 years. Terrible soundtrack (or is it a Sacramento issue?).

As another ex-expat (repat?) I find it interesting and even therapeutic to hear Turner bounce observations off someone who actually knows how to be an adult in America. I would definitely recommend this podcast to anyone else who feels like they've been out of the country too long.

there is literally nothing i hate more than someone asking me to listen to a podcast! so know i was not thrilled when sent this link by *multiple friends*. after listening, i have to say... this is the best weekly recording of two people speaking i have ever heard! seriously, so funny, interesting, real and smart. i love these guys!!

Most comedians' podcasts are trying too hard to be funny but this one sounds like a conversation between two friends at a bar and you want to be sitting with them. I love the Lost in America segment as an expat who also wonders why some things just don't make sense in the US. Their reactions to the news are also pretty funny. The only thing I would change is for the podcasts to come out more quickly!
