Long time listener, first time reviewer. I’ve really enjoyed this show over the last few years. Both hosts give great insight and have good chemistry. I have to say— I don’t love the way they go from season to season with Who. It’s like there’s a refusal to ever “catch up to the current”, so they review old Doctor Who episodes for 4-6 months, which I don’t have much interest in.

I’m just a moderate fan of the two shows but I really enjoy listening to the hosts discuss them. It’s an enthusiastic and positive way to spend a geeky hour. Some shows are more vibe than information but this one is the perfect balance of each.

It’s two kind and thoughtful people telling each other about things that they love. The only thing better could be if it already had over 100 episodes for you to binge, which it does! Illyana

I am a Doctor Who and Star Trek fan and I’m so glad I found this show. I enjoy hearing the discussions between the two hosts and I frequently get a new perspective on episodes. I love the trivia facts that HT gives about the Doctor Who episodes as well. Can’t wait until you’re back in Jan 2023.

Good show

I followed HT from a couple of other podcasts (because their thoughts are so well articulated and relatable for me) to this podcast and I can’t recommend this enough. Both hosts are so well spoken and provide really well rounded breakdowns of both shows, while still having fun!

As a hardcore trekker and whovian who has seen it all it takes a lot to cut through all the podcasts and give me a reason tune in. Re-Discovering Trek through HT’s eyes and Who with Jacob gives me both the fresh and experienced take. I love their observations. For serious nerd for these things it is not said lightly this show is great!

The passion is there. The effort is there. I don’t even enjoy the two shows nearly as much as I should to listen to this podcast weekly but I love HT and Jacob so much that I come back every time there is a new episode.

I’m a diehard Doctor Who fan who has barely dabbled in Trek. I’ve seen the one movie where they save the whales but none of the show. I love listening to HT talk about DW and to Jacob discover his love (and avoid ~spoilers~). Thanks for giving me something to smile about! But please hurry, I’m almost caught up 😭😂

HT and Jacob are two of my favorite /film writers, and I absolutely love this podcast. I am really excited to rewatch both of these shows and listen to the reactions of these incredible hosts. Amazing.

I’ve never watched Trek or Who, but have always wanted to give it a try. Problem is both shows have such a long running history that it felt like a daunting task to even begin. Thankfully I have Jacob and HT along for the ride! You won’t find two more passionate, entertaining, or enjoyable hosts out there :)

Another Trek/Who fan here!!! Such a great podcast so far. It’s structured but still has a looseness to have some fun. The insights and discussions have been exciting to listen to.

I highly recommend this show. The hosts are passionate and crazy knowledgeable about their subjects; it’s well produced, well executed, and well thought through; I think it’s a great concept *and* it’s nerdy without being exclusive. I love that the point of it is to share these fairly daunting franchises with noobs, instead of gatekeeping. The excitement of the hosts for the individual episodes and the shows as a whole is genuine and contagious. I can’t wait for more!

HT, Jacob, Doctor Who and Star Trek!? Fantastic! I’ve been listening to HT and Jacob for a couple of years discuss current movie, tv and entertainment news as part of the venerable Slashfilm Daily movie/tv/entertainment podcast and website crew. (You should check that podcast out too, especially the frisky hilarious Friday water cooler episodes.) Much to my delight I learned this week that they are now venturing on a new podcast/journey. Each is introducing the other to a couple of my favorite sci fi/fantasy tv series. HT is introducing Jacob to Doctor Who and in turn Jacob is introducing HT to Star Trek. Each has not watched their respective tv show before in their life and it’s a delight listening to these two talk about their favorite shows. Each week they share their love of their fandom, watch an episode of modern Doctor Who and Star Trek:TOS and discuss the episode highs and a few lows. Much like the time weary Doctor who becomes re-energized watching their companion experience well trodden moments in time and space with fresh wonderment, I feel the same way listening to HT and Jacob. I’m looking forward to rewatching old episodes and becoming excited again. 5/5

Loved the first episode! Both hosts have not only a clear passion for their respective shows, but also - and this is crucial to any great podcast - the ability to intelligently translate their passion into a clear and coherent explanation of all of their points. I learned a lot while also feeling like I was sorting in on a discussion between two pals. Looking forward to more!
