Dlc196009The on-going rantWendy is a pretty good interviewer and I love getting to know other artist stories. But SOOOO tired of Wendy ranting about Instagram and algorithm changes. Girl change happens. Adjust.

Gypsisoul1111You lost me when you dissed YouTubeYou obviously have not seen the millions of artists on the Youtube community. Not EVERYTHING is on Instagram and many artists are leaving it.

Laura TrotchieSo So RealWow, art and life…such great talks! Filled with humor, humbleness, and awesome art talk. Love love love it all. Can’t put how I feel into words so I’ll shut up…love it! I’m listening to you and Yetunde. There was so much information I am listening for a second time.

jbhartsInterview with Barb SmuckerI loved listening to this Podcast. You ladies talked about so many wonderful topics. You are two dynamic women! I did not want the discussion to end. Barb, I was inspired by your journey and all that you offer for your community. I have long loved the artistic creativity and the soft feel of the age old making of quilts. Wrapping myself in a hand created quilt was like a giant hug. I tried cutting and making quilts but lost patience. Instead I used to watercolor paint large images on watercolor paper of quilt designs that I made up. I bought Nancy Crow’s inspiring book when it first came out because it was so new, artistic, colorful and masterful. I loved that book and still have it despite many moves across the country and content. When Barb was talking about how she offers wonderful open spaces for people to come in create and share without judgement is so necessary and much needed in the world. Barb offered her wonderful knowledge of psychology and spirituality, which I believe creating art is part of our spirit. Lucky for the people whose lives you have enriched. What the art therapist brings to the sessions is not only holding the space, bear witness to, and safely contain the shared stories, while assessing body language, but also help clients process the experience to enhance emotional development and personal development. Often, art psychotherapists ask clients thought provoking questions to offer an expanded view of awareness, and also respond to the dialologue with ideas and strategies that can help facilitate therapeutic and emotional development. I always ended my art therapy groups with mindful meditation to release the energy of the 2 hour art therapy session. I now have retired status with the American Art Therapy Association. I can only volunteer my services, but the truth is, after listening to you two have this in-depth discussion, I realized how much I miss facilitating art psychotherapy groups. I don’t miss trying to get paid, or the business part of having a practice. However, I would love to volunteer with the two of you to add the therapy part. Thank you both for being so open. Wendy, you ask amazing questions. You do not miss a beat asking follow up questions and also for clarification on a comment in a non threatening way. Love this show!!!

crown416Love your podcast!Wendy, you’re such a great listener. Only very special people excel in that area. And then … you ask the exact question I’m thinking about. Kudos to you on a great podcast and for keeping on keeping on!

DrDebbieBCalling out is not the answerI listened to your podcast with Sarah. It made me feel absolutely horrible. I am so angry and resentful. I feel personally attacked. Making a podcast just to call people out is awful. I recommend you do some work on your white privilege and microaggressions and consider taking Loretta Ross’s online class on calling in vs. calling out. I wish you well.

creativityreignitedGreat podcastI love Wendy’s style & her passion for “making”. She has great guests with insightful questions which make for a wonderful podcast

Dbshell51Me too!!I so enjoyed your podcast with Marie! Since I can relate to feeling under pressure to DO all the art. I especially appreciated you saying you don’t have to do ALL the classes. I really enjoy Wanderlust 2021 but I have only done 14 of them and felt like I wasted money and was a bit of a failure. But it made my heart lighter when you reminded me what a bargain the classes are! So true! And if you only do or get something out of some of them it’s still a bargain and we’ll worth it. Thank you Wendy for speaking the truth as I know it!! 🥰🥰🥰😊😊

kAfLeTtSarah Gardner and WendyFirst off, WOW! I love getting to know you both. Your brutal honesty and vulnerability about yourselves is your super power, second only to your creative spirits. Fodder School is looking better and better! Great podcast!

chimneyswiftstudioJust positively wonderfulSitting in my junk room listing to this podcast surrounded by stacks of paper, vintage books, glue sticks and paint, I discovered I am not alone in this predicament. Thanks Wendy, now keep going, don’t stop!

MidgeUlt2001So much in here for all Creatives!Any technical issues are completely overshadowed by the content. I have been introduced to so many great creatives through this podcast. My Instagram feed is now the most beautiful thing out there filled with all their wonderful art. Seriously inspiring podcast!

MuseMomGreat discussionWendy, I felt as if you were talking to me! I was fretting I was trying too many artsy things from watercolor to sculpting and everything in between and you validated my exploration. Can’t wait to hear more!
-
mchil5Fantastic perspective and comfortable! This is great- down to earth- unpretentious conversation about how to make art! I am familiar with Wendy from Instagram and have been following her for a while. I love seeing her experiment and evolve with mediums. I am on my own journey discovering my “style” during the lockdown, and while finally pursuing my dream of making art full time. I am looking forward to more conversations and perspectives from others, it should be an interesting podcast! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts!
-
