I enjoyed listening to this enlightening conversation about Menachem Begin!

OK Eli….we got it. The Steele Dossier wasn’t the real McCoy. Now, can you please get off of that hobby horse? It’s getting boring. And, can you please be equally as outraged over Trumpism and it’s corrosive effect on our politics, social cohesion and our alliances with foreign partners?

The episode on punk seemed to present a tremendous depth of understanding, but then used that understanding to make bizarre and trollish claims: that Kanye wearing a maga hat is the most punk thing since (whatever). Or even to launch a pathetic libertarian defense of Margaret Thatcher. Neither of these two were ever anybody in a punk scene despite their base of knowledge. I don’t think they ever in used the word scene. Because they weren’t there. And couldn’t have breathed that air.

This guy is just god-awful, racist, angry, and spouting pro-genocide speech every single day.

after loving Eli as guests on a few other podcasts (and the epic Norman Finkelstein “debate”) I thought i’d seek this out. Glad I did. The episode on Begin is amazing and so illuminating right now.

This loathsome terrorist takes pleasure in seeing brown skinned children suffer and die so that people like him can steal what they don’t even need. It’s a great podcast for people who think that believing everyone should have the same rights makes you an anti-semite.

Good topics and discussion but the constant interrupting makes it difficult to listen.

Eli is the man! He does incredible deep dive on an eclectic range of subjects and has far ranging discussions with terrific guests. He has his point of view, but he is transparent about his approach and he is nuanced in his discussions. Even when I disagree with him, I know he’s being honest and thorough and thoughtful.

Eli is great at regurgitating right wing talking points and calling everyone who disagrees with him anti semitic

Everything you say that trump is doing the dems have been doing in spades. Trump isn’t my first or second pic, but he’s better than Biden, Harris or newsom. The redneck racist have NO power or support on the right. Love the podcast in spite of this clown.

I adore this podcast. Eli’s analysis is thorough and balanced and his cultural knowledge makes for great examples and metaphors. But most of all, I’m grateful for Eli’s record-keeping. The modern existence is overwhelmed by a hundred news stories a day - Eli is the best analyst I know of that: clarifies which stories matter, contextualizes them to their moment and stores them for straightforward reference. Chazak!

Excellent. Nissan and family are in my prayers. Very educational; it was so hard to understand what mistakes were made by the Israeli government, and this helps. Mistakes are always made, we live in a sinful world, and especially when living in proximity to people who hate you. It just helps me to understand. I’m so sorry. May God comfort and help His people.

I found this podcast through Commentary podcast where Eli has been a guest. He is smart and down-to-earth and picks great guests and current topics. Looking forward to more. His monologues and interviews have been invaluable in the last few weeks.

Been reading and following Eli Lake on Commentary and Twitter and elsewhere for years. Knew he had a podcast, but was unaware of how excellent it is! May be my new fave (sorry Commentary). Great production! The music interludes are brilliant! I mean, The Moments’ Another Day? Amazing.

Eli said onJune 30th that pt2 of Church and the Deep State would be released the following week. It’s now mid September and still nothing

What superlative can we further bestow upon Eli Lake? He’s unsparing in indicting some saintly figures on the Left, but even surprisingly fair to others. However, this is not to be said he’s a pure partisan. Lake is intent on providing historic literacy on offering depth to figures like Bobby Kennedy or Senator Frank Church. You may have read the press’s cliff notes but you’ll be enriched listening to Mr.Lake’s deep dives.

I like how this podcast covers topics well known, but not well understood. His research (along with his guests) shine light on dusty topics that the commoner like myself only know a few bullet points. I appreciate the persepective and analysis. It’s almost like he lays all the cards of the players of a given historical event on the table. Much easier to understand an otherwise complicated historical and contreversial history.

Eli’s willingness to ask difficult questions, his love of history- especially it’s complicated messiness and the contradictions in human agency, and his delivery make this the best journalism podcast going.

In an aside, this guy says Nixon ordered the Watergate break-in. Says who? He also refers to a guy who threw acid in an innocent man’s face as a “poor schlub.” That’s very considerate of you, Eli! There’s this kind of weird disconnect with Lake about the subject matter like he’s just considered it for the first time. Why is he doing this pod? Why am I listening?

A really delayed release schedule and then super poor quality audio without any explanation of either? Both need to get fixed ASAP as it unnecessarily brings down an otherwise fantastic podcast.

Great podcast

I listened to you on the Commentary podcast which led me to this one. I never leave reviews but just had to let you to know I think your podcast is unique and fascinating!

Whether he’s discussing politics, culture, or religion, Eli finds a perfect balance of making often dense topics interesting and entertaining. He does regular deep dives into political issues without coming across as partisan. He also has a way of illuminating certain crucial details that were ignored in mainstream narratives. No matter the topic of a specific episode, you will come away with a much deeper understanding after listening. I highly recommend it.

I am too young to know the Beatles drama firsthand. The essay with all the clips and background was so great for me. It gives a feel for the times and puts it together in a coherent narrative. The discussion was so fun too. A voice who respects but does not love the Beatles. Too much Beatles stuff is people agreeing they are the best.

You have the best music selections for bumpers etc. Loved the Prince song Truth in Content Moderation Industrial Complex. I’m reminded of Tipper Gore before Congress wanting a parental guidance sticker on albums and CDs, this looks tame compared to where we are today. Thanks, Eric H. Los Angeles
