    Awesome Cruise Podcast!!
Very informative and great all around podcast about cruising!

    Uncomfortable
If this is what they sound like on air, I would hate to hear them in the privacy of their home. Doug and Michelle, married Disney lovers, always sound tense and agitated. Michelle will stop answering questions and then berate Doug for asking them in the wrong way, or mispronouncing a word. I wanted to like this show so badly because I love cruises, but Michelle does not come across as likable. Whenever I listen to the show, I just feel really bad for the couple and their kids. If the show continues, I think the best course of action would be to add a new cohost to relieve some of the bickering. Also, there’s way too many ads and promotions for the travel agency sponsor.

    Great Informative Podcast
I love this podcast because it is great for getting your cruise planning help fix and your cruise news fix at the same time!, Doug and Michelle Are Great Hosts.

    Fantastical
I listen to both Rope Drop podcasts and I must say, Michelle is such a step up from that Derek guy! This podcast gives great insight and information for cruising and the chemistry between these 2 is great! Michelle thank you for bringing this podcast up to high levels and not letting Doug drag it down. You’re a true cruising queen

Doug and Michelle really know all things cruises. Just wish Derek was on their more. Loved this last episode!

    So informative!
I love the information and variety of subjects that Doug & Michelle cover. They give so many different points of view! Kids, teens, adults! I love it. Doug is funny and entertaining!

    May cause cruise addiction
Rope Drop on Deck is like a magic carpet ride through the world of Disney cruises and other cruise lines I don’t mention! Michelle and Doug are a delightful mix of cruise enthusiasts and hilarious storytellers, making you feel like you’re sailing right alongside them—minus Doug’s seasickness. I love Michelle’s (fun) facts and Doug’s motion sickness tips! Don’t be surprised if you find yourself booking a cruise before the episode ends.
  • But I want points!
    Great advice you can trust!
I’m leaving for a cruise in three weeks and the packing episode came out merely days after I made our packing list! I definitely had to add a couple of things to the list. Thanks for all the great advice!

    Best Table Mates
If you’ve ever cruised before, you are going to know exactly what I talking about. Michelle and Doug are like those table mates that you just click with right away. Amplified by the fact that they become those cruise friends you always ask for advice before planning the next trip. Their experiences cruising are the stories you love to hear and the tips that you keep. Doug tells the jokes and Michelle keeps him grounded and lets him know that they’re corny, a perfect match, like the best table mates you’ve had on a cruise. But the podcast lets sit with them every week.

    Great Disney Cruise Podcast
We love listening to Disney Cruise podcasts & this is our favorite. We’ve used Michelle to book cruises, & would highly suggest using her to help with your cruise. Very informative & entertaining podcast!

    Great Episode!
I’m a big Rope Drop radio fan, you guys are so flipping helpful, and now that we are planning our 3rd cruise (4 night on Fantasy in April to Lookout and Castaway) I’ve been listening to Rope Drop on Deck and Wes the DCL Dude. I love that you all got together to do this! I’ll be listening to Back to the Mouse going forward also! I’m only 10 mins into the episode and had to thank you guys for getting together! Thanks to all of you for always sharing such great tips!

A must listen for first time cruisers!
I’ve been a Rope Drop Radio patreon for years, but am preparing to go on my first Disney cruise in 2025 (taking my parents for their 50th wedding anniversary!)—-so I checked out Rope Drop on Deck to get ready. Doug and Michelle are a great duo, and just like on Rope Drop Radio, they offer such good insights and advice. Their combined experience is so great to learn from, as are the awesome guests they have on. This podcast is a MUST for anyone getting ready to cruise!

    Ok
Not a bad podcast. It’s a podcast on cruising, after all. The hosts seem nice and genuine. The shows contain some helpful nuggets. But the pod seems to be lacking in focus. It’s unclear exactly what niche the show is trying to fill. Interviews? News? Trip reviews? Personal experiences? My sense is that the show mostly exists as a lead generator for their travel agency business.

    “Rope drop Bingo”
My family and I are BIG Disney people, and when we found that Rope Drop also had a channel for cruising, we were thrilled! I love the down-to-earth reviews, news, and humor that comes with Rope Drop on Deck…and the valuable cruising advice is not to be missed- especially gems like how important it is to “rope drop” Bingo! Thank you!
  • Laurenmb225
    Great listen
Love this podcast and the combination of entertainment and accurate information! I have been listening for a long time now. I kept thinking someone else would make the effort of getting them to 100 reviews because I hardly ever leave reviews but I finally felt guilty enough to make the effort :)

    Great Podcast!
Thanks for putting on this entertaining podcast. As someone who loves sailing with DCL it’s super interesting for me to hear about cruises on other lines. Plus I learn something new with the word of the day. Your humor and love for cruising comes through and makes it a great way for me to get my cruise fix in-between trips. You are one of my favorite podcasts, keep up the good work!

    Love The Tips!!
Doug and Michelle are LITERALLY THE BEST!!! Doug is hilarious and Michelle is so patient and provides us with the BEST eye rolls when Doug rambles lol. My family is cruising on the Disney Fantasy in January 2025 and Michelle is our AMAZING travel agent!! Thank you for sharing your tips and tricks! ❤️❤️❤️

    Host seem tired/annoyed
Maybe I caught a bad episode but I started on the episode about what to wear on a cruise. The woman seemed tired or annoyed with the questions. Brief and repetitive answers. At one point she doesn’t even respond. He has to say that she’s nodding. The man really was trying to keep the episode going. Disappointed because I really wanted to learn for an upcoming cruise.

    Amazeballs!
I stumbled across this podcast a few months ago and have listened to nearly every backlist episode — I’m almost caught up! I truly enjoy the banter between Michelle and Doug! I can hear the eyerolls. Hahaha, my husband also doesn’t pack except for his own medication and maybe the chargers. Anyway, this June, we are going on our first cruise since our honeymoon nearly 20 years ago, and it will be our kids’ first cruise. I have loved every minute of your podcast and appreciate all the information and tips you provide.
  • Msteckler1
    Love it!
This is my new favorite podcast. I listened to so many episodes as we prepared for our first Disney cruise and am back listening to more episodes as I dream about booking our next trip! Doug and Michelle keep it light, informative and bring an objective perspective based on experience.

    Doug’s Correct Pronunciation
Five stars for Doug’s pronunciation of Louisville on Episode 54. As someone from Louisville, KY, I can confirm that he pronounced it correctly (Loo-uh-vul NOT Loo-ee-ville).
  • Bob W3
Great podcast for news on Disney and other cruises
I eagerly listen to each episode of this podcast. It provides great cruise news, suggestions, and cruise reports. It could use more gross tonnage reports (as Michelle rolls her eyes).
  • ditchigger
    Great find!!
Doug, here is your 5 star review!! Doug and Michelle are a wonderful couple to listen to after hearing them as guests with Wes on DCL Dude!!! I love Doug’s enthusiasm for different things, that happen to be the things I would notice. Yes, it’s impressive when you’re comparing gross tonnage of different ships along with beam and draft. Michelle offers a great perspective as both traveller and travel agent! Keep up the great work guys! Looking forward to the next episode.

Great podcast for cruising tips and advice
I have enjoyed listening to Doug and Michelle talk cruising while we are gearing up to return to DCL after an 8-years. I love the balance of Michelle’s TA experience and Doug’s humor. You can literally hear those eye rolls from Michelle as Doug turns up the sarcasm! Thanks for the tips and the comic relief. :)

Word of the day - Thallosphile
If you are a lover of the sea - you’ll love their word of the day segment on their podcast. They are a fun pair to listen to and you can practically see Michelle rolling her eyes in the tone of her voice. They crack me up all the time. I love hearing their cruise reports and what their kids were up to during the cruise.

One of the best cruising podcasts out there!
I love listening to Doug and Michelle and hearing their experiences from multiple cruise lines. Michelle is a treasure trove of information sharing her knowledge from booking, planning, and cruising. Doug and Michelle have countless tips and hacks to make cruising better for your family and I love the comedy that Doug provides. (Yes, I’m admitting that Doug is hilarious!) I am a loyal listener just like I am to Rope Drop Radio.

    Informational and Entertaining!
Doug and Michelle share cruise tips and information in a very entertaining style. Easy to listen to. The word of the day and their personal stories add to whatever topic they are discussing. Favorite so far has to be “Ballast”. Really enjoyed the additional fun facts Doug added! Thanks for what you do and keep up the great work! Courtney

    Amazing show
Great podcast. Would give 6 stars if there was more gross tonnage conversations.
  • LFH_09
    Incredible!
I’ve listened to this show for a few months now and I can’t get enough of it! My favorite part of the show is the word of the day! Michelle and Doug give a ton of valuable information and insight in a really fun way. I love listening to this show and it has become a huge part of my week. Huge thanks to Doug and Michelle!
  • Apostolicmommyo4
Fun to get an honest comparison!
They compare multiple cruise lines, with fresh and honest opinions that are helpful esp when planning a cruise!

Fun and informative podcast. Great for seasoned DCL cruisers and first timers.

    5 stars isn’t enough stars
Love this podcast! You can find stats and facts anywhere, but it’s the experienced-based insights that Doug and Michelle provide that make this a must-listen-to podcast. They call it like it is, they’re suggestions are super helpful and they’re just a joy to listen to. A big thank you to Doug and Michelle for putting in the hard work each week to make this resource available!!
  • TomTurkToledo
    Pretty good
If you’re a Disney fan, this may be the podcast for you. Not as much insight provided on other cruise lines, however. The host, Doug is fun. But, his zany, fly by the seat of his pants persona can be a bit much after a few listens. The co-host, Michelle, is well informed and a nice grounding influence for the show. Overall, a worthwhile listen.

Beware your bank account may suffer (😉)
Love listening to Doug and Michelle. However, there is one problem - the podcast makes me dream about being on another cruise and I start to research options - my bank account is not sure it’s on board with that plan. In all seriousness, Doug and Michelle are so relatable and their podcast makes me feel like we are having a conversation on my back deck about traveling. Even though I have been on numerous cruises, I always learn something new. Thanks for help keeping me entertained and keeping my travel dreams going.

Only thing better is actually being on a cruise
Douglas and Michelle are a stellar duo discussing all things related to cruising!! The knowledge they share is priceless and the banter and laughter always has me coming back for more. I appreciate what they both bring to the podcast and hope one day to sail a DCL cruise with them. Keep up the outstanding work and their podcast magnet can always be seen on my family’s DCL stateroom door.
  • Rigbyfab4
Doug and Michelle make for a great listen
Doug and Michelle do a nice job with their podcast, keeping us informed about the cruising industry in general and DCL news in particular. I’ve added RDOD for my regular lineup of Disney Parks and Cruise shows and look forward to each release. Keep up the good work!
  • Giggles7601
    Great Show!
Although I have actually never sailed Disney, I love this show! They have great informative Royal Caribbean and general cruising info too! And I love the banter that keeps the humor in the show too!

    Great Info -Great People
Doug and Michelle are not only knowledgeable and fun to listen to, but they are genuine in their delivery of information. I appreciate them sharing their anecdotal experiences and the way that they weave it into their subject matter.
